A pre-eminent accountant and business adviser with over 30 years of experience, John has spent the majority of his career as a partner/managing partner for medium-sized accountancy firms.
John’s clients range from medium-sized local businesses to listed Australian, multinational organisations and ultra-high net wealth families across a variety of industries, from financial services, to media, bio and medical technology, distribution, hospitality, property, childcare and retail.
John is particularly prominent in funds management and private equity, acting as a CFO for leading multinational and local fund managers and private equity firms operating in Australia and regularly speaking at international accountancy and taxation conferences about issues affecting this sector. John and Lumina act as the outsourced accounting and finance team for four of the top ten fund managers operating in Australia.
John has long been an innovator in outsourced accounting and finance services, founding the concept of Lumina in 1998. His ability to design meaningful and useful reporting together with strong and efficient processes and control environments has ensured Lumina’s success.
John specialises in business and strategic advisory, sitting on several boards and advising some of Australia’s wealthiest families and prominent organisations. In addition to strategic advice, he specialises in accounting and finance processes and internal control design, reporting design, due diligence, valuation, and taxation services and provides expert witness accountancy services to some of Australia’s leading institutions.
John graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Australian National University and attained his Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 1996.
With over 19 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, and taxation, Melinda is a highly accomplished chartered accountant whose results-driven and service-focused approach have made her a leader in her field.
Joining the firm in 2004, Melinda is responsible for Lumina’s Outsourced Accounting division. The division provides unparalleled support in accounting, finance and compliance to large family-owned enterprises, small to medium ASX-listed financial services companies, multinationals entering the Australian market and private firms.
Melinda’s extensive experience as an outsourced CFO allows her to offer a wealth of financial expertise, risk management and data-driven decision-making, all aimed at enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of her clients' financials.
Melinda graduated with a Bachelor of Business, Accounting and Finance degree from Charles Sturt University and attained her Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 2009.
Daniel is a highly respected chartered accountant with over 25 years of experience and is the partner responsible for Lumina’s Corporate, Tax and Accounting division.
Joining Lumina in 1998, Daniel specialises in handling complex taxation and structuring issues, Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL) matters and preparing management and financial reports for both listed and non-listed entities, ensuring adherence to local and global accounting standards and policies.
Additionally, Daniel excels in financial modelling, budget and forecast modelling, valuation and discounted cash flow analysis.
Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Business, Accounting and Finance degree from the University of Technology Sydney and attained his Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 2000.
Yvette has over 15 years of accounting experience covering areas such as financial control (financial operations, bookkeeping, payroll, treasury etc), management and financial accounting, as well as external and internal audit. She has worked in both chartered and commercial environments and within a wide range of industries, including financial services and banking, media, not-for-profit, family office, federal and state government and fashion retail.
As a director within Lumina’s Outsourced Accounting division, Yvette advises a broad range of clients, bringing significant experience in internal control reviews, stakeholder and workflow management, process efficiency and client transitions.
Yvette graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Psychology degree from the Australian National University and attained her Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 2010.
Cameron's accounting experience spans over 17 years, covering external audit services, commercial finance in television and media, and end-to-end outsourced accounting services.
As a Director in Lumina's Outsourced Accounting division, Cameron specialises in managing the sophisticated needs of Lumina’s financial service and funds management clients.
Cameron’s background in both professional services and commercially focused roles allows him to bring a wide range of skills, from leadership and workflow management to communicating with and managing a wide spectrum of domestic and international stakeholders.
Cameron graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Sydney and attained his Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 2008.
Nurul has over 12 years of experience working as a chartered accountant, providing high-quality accounting, finance and taxation services to corporate clients across a variety of industries.
As a director in Lumina’s Corporate, Tax and Accounting division, Nurul assists clients with their statutory compliance obligations, including preparing general-purpose financial statements for reporting to ASIC and other regulatory bodies, liaising with auditors and other stakeholders, assisting with meeting various tax reporting requirements with the ATO and ensuring ongoing compliance with accounting and tax legislation changes.
Nurul also works closely with the partners at Lumina in providing business and corporate advisory services such as valuations, budgeting and forecasting and forensic accounting.
Nurul graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Sydney and attained her Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 2012.
George has over 13 years of experience in chartered accounting firms providing accounting, tax advisory and business services.
As a director in Lumina’s Corporate, Tax and Accounting division, George delivers tax advisory and compliance support for various clients. In addition, George provides tailored consulting services such as the restructuring of private groups, business valuations and budgeting and forecasting.
George specialises in servicing high-net-worth individuals and groups, small businesses and corporate groups with an international presence.
George graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology Sydney and attained his Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 2011.
Luke is a highly experienced chartered accountant with over 13 years’ experience in management and financial accounting, budgeting, bookkeeping and payroll. He has worked in a broad range of industries in both Australia and the UK, from financial services, property development and agriculture to TV and film.
As a director in Lumina’s Outsourced Accounting division, Luke excels in stakeholder management, outsourced CFO services, process improvement and client transitions. In addition, he finds great fulfillment in coaching and mentoring junior staff members at Lumina for their career development.
Luke graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Wollongong and attained his Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification in 2013.
Joining Lumina in 2014, Milica has over 20 years of experience in human resources, leadership development, business support and information technology in both the chartered accounting environment and in large enterprise organisations.
Energetic, collaborative and a strong communicator, Milica manages Lumina’s Business Support team to ensure effective provision of all HR, IT, facilities and administrative functions.
